Lt. Col. Petar Marinov, PhD
In 1997, Dr. Marinov graduated with a Bachelor's Degree as a Radiolocation Systems Commander and Engineer and from 1997 to 2006, he served in different positions up to battalion XO. In 2006, he was deployed on a mission in Iraq as a Bulgarian contingent XO.
In 2009, Dr. Marinov obtained a Master's Degree in Military Affairs from the National Defense Academy in Bulgaria and that same year was appointed as a Senior Expert in the Bulgarian Land Forces HQ.
In 2010 he achieved his PhD in Military Affairs. Since, he has been Head Assistant Professor at the Bulgarian National Defence Academy G.S. Rakovski.
Between 2011 and 2012, he was 5 KDK XO and an ANA mentor in Afghanistan.
Dr. Marinov's expertise lies primarily in the areas of peacekeeping operations, anti-terrorism, command & control and staff procedures.
