Prof. Atanas Gochev, DSC, PhD
Atanas Gochev is a professor of International Relations at the University for National and World Economy, Sofia. He has served as National Director and Chief Investigator of the UNDP based Bulgarian Early Warning System and as a member of the UNDP Regional Early Warning Advisory Board. He has been a member of the International Task Force preparing the final documents for the International Summit on Democracy, Terrorism and Security – Madrid, 2005. He has been also an UNDP consultant for the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in designing and implementing a conflict prevention Early Warning System.
Professor Gotchev has also served as a World Bank consultant providing governance diagnostic and capacity assessment of the public administrations as well as development and implementation of policy impact assessment methodologies in the Republics of the Southern Federal District and the Caucuses of the Russian Federation. From 2008 until 2010 he served as an UNDP consultant for the Parliament of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Ukraine and helped the design and implementation of the Crimean Human Security Monitoring Early Warning System.
